Compassion Month @ The Rock Chuches
May 21 – May 23 all-day

During the month of May, we’ll be joining Compassion International to speak out on behalf of children living in poverty. Each one of us has an incredible opportunity to sponsor a child in need. You can actually give a child both a future and a hope through the love of this Christ-centered program (run by a local church in that child’s neighborhood). Over the last 60 years 1,800,000 children have had their lives radically changed for the better. Please visit the Compassion Table (in the Lobby before and after all services). You’ll be able to see and read the packets showing the children who need a sponsor right now! Matthew 25:35-36 says, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me…” Won’t you help? Youth Group @ The Rock Draper
May 25 @ 7:00 pm

Please join us for our last Youth Group of the year! We have a special night planned — here are the important details: We’ll be meeting at West Riverfront Pavilion (11050 S Riverfront Parkway) at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 25. Please bring a salad or dessert to share (the church will provide the meat). This will be a special night to honor our seniors, playing volleyball, ultimate frisbee and get ready for summer!

We value personal relationships very highly at The Rock Church. One of our greatest concerns and commitments is to develop strong families. This has been our heritage and one of our greatest treasures. Because of those desires, our Youth Group follows a Parent-Led Model. The main difference between our Youth Group (and the typical model at most other churches), is that our Youth Group is led and taught by dads — this is no doubt a little different from what you might be used to. That’s okay, new can be good. We feel that this model has had tremendous success and we’re excited to share it with you!

Our Parent-led Youth Group is an excellent way to:

  • Learn to share/teach lessons to your teens and others
  • Be involved with your teen during significant turning points in their life
  • Help them respect godly authority
  • Be an example of working hard and having fun
  • Share your life with them
  • Get knit in with other parents/families working towards the same goals
  • Deepen your family life by growing together

Our Youth Group is open to 7 – 12th grade and if you would like a detailed description of our Youth Group vision, we have provided a PDF for you to read through as well as the calendar for the year. Contact pastor Bill Young or Tom Jackson if you have any questions.

Draper Church Campout @ Anderson Cove Campground
Jun 16 – Jun 18 all-day

We’re so excited to have our annual All Draper Rock Church Campout coming the weekend of June 16-18! It’s happening at Anderson Cove Campground and we hope you can make it. Our annual campouts are always one of the highlights of the year, as we actually cancel all Draper weekend church services so that we can go camping as a family. That’s right, there will be NO CHURCH in Draper on the weekend of June 16-18! Come camping with us and enjoy some Dutch oven cooking, maybe do some fishing and let the kiddos get dirty. It’s a time for sweet fellowship, s’mores and campfires. For a full list of activities planned (or to register), please visit www.trc.life/campout

Since there are a limited number of campsites available (and not everyone likes to go camping), many of you will no doubt be staying home that weekend. If you are, we want to encourage you to use that unique weekend of not having regular church, to intentionally reach out to another person or family and have them over for a backyard bbq, a campfire, games in your backyard or just a little extra time for getting to know someone else. It’s only once a year that we don’t have weekend church services and we don’t want you to miss out on the opportunity to experience some sweet community and fellowship by using that time to invest in others.
