Ministries in HIGH Priority of Need

NURSERY . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Jami Karst — erickarst2000@yahoo.com
Do you want to have an influence on future generations? Here’s an opportunity that will have a profound impact for years to come. By watching over our little ones during the service, you’re able to share the love of Christ with innocent impressionable minds while giving their parents a brief break. Need to arrive 15 minutes before each service.

TODDLERS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Carol Mattingly — 233.6564
Same as above, but the kids are just a little bit older — which means it’s even more fun! When it comes to small children, it just doesn't’t get any better than the ages from two to four. Don’t miss such prime moments! Need to arrive 15 minutes before the service.

ROCK THE WORLD TEACHERS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Deseri Peterie — walkingwithhim@comcast.net
The Rock Church has one of the most innovative Sunday school programs ever. Using the revolutionary new workshop rotation model, you will teach a major Bible story or concept via one of our kid-friendly multimedia workshops — art (Creator’s Studio), cooking (Garden of Eat’n), video (Holyword Theater), computers (fishermen.net), or games (Adventureland). Your class rotates each week, so you only prepare one simple lesson (curriculum provided) and teach it to a different age group (K-6) each week. Time of serving is during the message, and commitment is for a month at a time.

ROCK THE WORLD TOUR GUIDES . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Krissy Hunter — hunterfam5@yahoo.com
A tour guide stays with each Sunday school class as they rotate through the different workshops, providing stability for the kids in that they are accompanied by the same adult each week. Tour guides are basically teacher’s aides, lending a hand and helping keep order throughout class time. Time of serving is during the message, and commitment is for a month at a time.

MEMORY MADNESS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Jenny Trerise — jensmail@csolutions.net
What a perfect way to help children and adults hide God’sWord in their hearts. Primary need is for helpers to quiz people in between services. You could do this once or twice a month, or there are also other little tasks such as taking pictures, printing certificates, helping out on “store” day, etc., that may be done on a periodic basis. We would really like to expand and enrich this program!

Ministries in MEDIUM Priority of Need

PRAYER . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Suzie Mendez — mylife4hym@yahoo.com
There’s power in prayer, and that’s why we have a small group of people who pray during each of our services! You would be scheduled once every couple of months with prayer times occurring during the message — praying for lives to be changed, for people with needs, for upcoming church activities, etc. This is a great way to deepen your prayer life and get closer to other believers!

WELCOME/GREETERS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Mike/Sandie Lister — listersandra@hotmail.com
Here’s a perfect opportunity if you’re a “people” person! Involves preparing and handing out programs before the service while greeting everyone with a smile. Should be comfortable approaching complete strangers and engaging in conversation, making them feel welcome and at home at The Rock. Or you could help out at the welcome booth, which is a perfect opportunity to introduce visitors to other people and help them get plugged in to our church. After the service, collect the extra programs in order to recycle the shells and inserts. Need to arrive by 9:00.

STOREFRONT . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Rick/Shannon Sanchez — office@experiencetherock.com
This is your opportunity to help distribute CDs, books, Tshirts, and other Rock paraphernalia. Times of serving last about 30 minutes after each service. It’s a HUGE plus if you’ve had any prior retail experience. It’s also very helpful if you’re a “people” person with a decent knowledge of The Rock and our ministries. Minimal training is required.

POWERPOINT . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Tony D'Amico — tony@experiencetherock.com
Assist with setting up and running PowerPoint throughout the service. It’s beneficial if you have at least a minimal knowledge of the PowerPoint software, but most important is a heart to learn and serve. Need to arrive 20 minutes before each service.

SOUND . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Lee Evenson — evenson.lee@comcast.net
The great sound we have at The Rock doesn’t just come from expensive equipment. It takes skilled technicians who know what they’re doing, and that’s why it adds so much to The Rock worship experience. Requires a couple weeks of training, and workers must arrive by 8:30 for sound checks.

Ministries in LOW Priority of Need

SET-UP . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Josh Heitland — heitland2@comcast.net
Yup, this is just what it sounds like — turning on lights, unlocking doors, placing our signs on street corners, straightening chairs, etc., making sure everything looks good and is ready to go. It typically takes from 8:30 to 9:00 to do the initial set-up, then about another 15 minutes for a few miscellaneous tasks once the service starts.

CLEAN-UP . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Eric Karst — erickarst2000@yahoo.com
This one is pretty self-explanatory, huh? After each service, you’ll stay after and help with basic tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, etc. Very simple, and very important!

COFFEE . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Jay Henry — jhenry@utah.gov
I think you already understand the immense importance of coffee at The Rock! There is usually one person per service preparing coffee and another person is responsible for picking up cookies. First-service workers arrive by 9:00. Working together as a team, they keep everything stocked for the morning and usually close down and clean up about 15 minutes after the last service is over.

BAPTISMS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Steve McInroy — steve@experiencetherock.com
This ministry opportunity only occurs once a month and involves the set-up and tear-down of the baptismal font. It’s typically filled with water a day or two in advance for the heaters to start working (so the water is at least a few degrees above freezing), and then emptied right after the service.

MEALS 4 MINISTRY . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Karen Roylance — kjroylance@yahoo.com
If you’ve ever had major surgery or experienced a death in the family, then you know what an amazing blessing it would be if someone were to show up on your doorstep with a complete meal cooked just for you! Times of serving obviously fluctuate depending on situations as they occur, so this is a perfect place to serve if your schedule is sporadic.
