Surrounded by Bill Young

“For surely, O Lord, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a shield” (Psalm 5:12).

It’s been a couple months since we completed our Roots 2.0 capital campaign, and things related to our building are moving right along. God’s favor has been with us like a strong shield. His blessing is evident.

It appears that we’ll be in our current Sandy location at least until September. Our landlord has told us we can stay until their new building on the corner is completed. What new building? Exactly. They haven’t even broken ground yet, so it could be even longer before we have to move out. Thank you, Lord!

Regarding our new building in Draper, we’re chugging along full steam ahead with pre-construction details. We signed a contract with our architect (Building God’s Way in Ogden) and all construction documents should be finalized by the end of September. Once that’s complete, we can get bids from subcontractors and begin building. We’re also checking into fast-tracking all the excavation work as a separate project with the city of Draper which would allow us to put down footings and pour the foundation while the construction documents are being finished, hopefully by Labor Day. This would be such a huge head-start, so please pray for this. If all goes well, we’ll be in our new building by spring!

We’ve also been working through all the remaining details to secure financing for the project, which should be finalized within 60-90 days.

One big prayer request is still hanging over our heads (literally), and that’s the cost of burying the power lines on the property. Rocky Mountain Power is estimating between $120,000 to $150,000 to do this, so please pray that we’re able to find a solution for WAY cheaper!

Overall, we really feel like God is going before us, and we’re so excited to grow our roots down deep by having a home of our own. God’s favor is a wonderful thing, and because of amazing, generous, excited, loyal people like you we can look forward to many years of fruitful labor in Utah! Thanks again for your pledges and your faithful giving toward your commitment. Lives will be changed because you gave. Eternity already is.

Surrounded by the favor of God,

Bill
