“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15, NIV)

I recently had the opportunity to travel to Romania and to see firsthand how your generous contributions are making a difference in people’s lives around the world — a very real difference.

After a prayer meeting on the night before I left Romania, Bob, the director of the ministry center where we stayed, took my hands and pulled me close. He looked into my eyes and with much compassion said, “Pastor Bill, when you get back to Utah could you please make sure to thank The Rock Church for their wonderful generosity and for making a real difference with the gypsies in Romania?”

Rock church — thank you! Lives are different because you gave. Your contributions have helped to clear land in a remote village in Romania. In addition to this, you gave even more money to pay for a new church/ministry center to be built on that land. Today, this building is almost complete thanks to the sacrifice of almost 30 Rock Church members who traveled and worked for two weeks this past July. I want to testify – as someone who sweat and bled on the very concrete and block that you paid for — that you are making a very real difference in Romania…and elsewhere.

Additionally, we recently welcomed back our missionaries from Honduras and have heard great reports about dozens of salvations. Much good has happened due to your generous donations. God bless you Rock church.

We are on world mission — and even if you don’t travel outside of Utah, you are still a part of it. I am proud to be laboring with such generous, sacrificial, and heavenly-minded saints like you.

Your faith reminds me of what Paul said in 2 Corinthians 9:11-15:

“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!”

May God continue to give us a heart to be generous on every occasion.

Thanking God for you,

Bill
