unlikeliest by Steve McInroy

I was recently struck by how God sometimes seems to choose the most unlikeliest of people to save. Even some of my dearest friends in the faith are people I never would have, in my wildest dreams, thought would become Christians. God changes lives and it is simply miraculous. His unconditional love is available to anyone and everyone on the planet. Even if I follow Job’s example and complain about certain people, it doesn’t affect the outcome of their eternity. Only God can do that.

In Acts, Chapter 8, we read about a man named Simon who practiced magic and apparently had a bit of a following. He misled people, and even though it may have seemed harmless (we don’t know what kind of magic it was), his mistake could have been not the magic he practiced, but when he took credit and claimed to be something like a god and deceived people into seeing him as something more than he was. Even so, God in his great mercy, decided to change Simon. Acts 8:13 “Even Simon himself believed, and after being baptized he continued with Philip. And seeing signs and great miracles performed, he was amazed.”

Honestly, I consider myself to be one of the most unlikeliest of candidates to deserve God’s grace, yet I’m so thankful to be covered by it. Let’s be men and women who see people the way God does and never gives up on His ability to change people. Even that one guy or gal, and you know who I’m talking about, or let’s just say God knows who you’re thinking about. Pray them into heaven.

Unlikeliest and loving it,

Mac
