Faithful

“Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son.” Hebrews 3:5-6

In Exodus, we read that it took some time for Moses to accept the fact that God had huge plans for his life. You might wonder why that was?

I think the reason Moses was so reluctant was because he was the kind of guy that once he started something, he finished it completely. And the task the Lord was putting in front of him was something that was going to take a lot of time. It was going to make his life uncomfortable. Moses was 80 years old; he wasn’t naïve. He knew what kind of undertaking God was asking of him and he was reluctant. Once he accepted the call, however, he was all in. Moses was a faithful servant to God.

Christian, what has God called you to be faithful in? Is it something (that like Moses) you’re hesitant to fully accept? How has God called you to serve your church? How does He want you to spend your time and your resources?

If you’ve been given a spouse, you are called by God to be faithful to him or her. If you’ve been given children, you are called by God to be faithful parents to your children. If you’ve been given a job you are called by God to be faithful with the time you spend at your job and the quality of work you do. This also applies to the little things. If we say we’re going to do something, we need to do it quickly, completely and joyfully.

Even if His calling on your life takes a lot of time or causes you discomfort, be like Moses and make the commitment to be “all in”! Be found faithful with all He wants you to do!

Faithfully,

Billy
