Lasko Grant - The Rock Church

We have amazing news for you – are you sitting down? (more…)

God has seen fit to bless us with a grant (gift) for up to $486,000 for the construction of our new worship space that we are currently building in Draper! We are NOT kidding! We just got an email from the senior vice president of the John C. Lasko grant (the grant we’ve been praying for) letting us know the good news. God is so kind to us! Why not thank Him right now for His amazing, extravagant blessings. Here is a great verse that reminds us of God’s provision: “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.” (Exodus 23:20) Amen! God is providing and leading us!

    West Valley Church

Please pray, church! This is a very exciting season. Pray for our new pastors! Pray for the Draper building construction process. Pray we can stay in Sandy as long as possible. Pray for the West Valley church plant!

We had over 75 people join us at our West Valley church plant info meeting Saturday night! (more…)

As a church, we have a goal of 20 services by the year 2020, and a church plant is a key part of this. West Valley is the second largest city in the state and there are too few churches there! The need is huge in West Valley and everywhere in our state, for more churches that preach the gospel. At the info meeting, we talked about possible locations and the timeline, answered some questions and spent some time praying. It was very encouraging to be in a room full of people contemplating stepping out in faith to be part of this church plant.

The church plant will need people that are servants, prayer warriors, evangelists, but mainly we need workers.

“And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 When He saw the crowds, He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” — Matthew 9:35-38

Church, please pray God builds a team of men and women who are willing and able to be laborers for the gospel! If you are interested in being part of this team or would like to learn more, please email me.

“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” –Romans 12:12

We are on the edge of a lot of really exciting things happening this year at The Rock. We are recognizing three new deacons, and five new pastors who have already been investing their lives into the church for quite some time. This is a big deal for us, and it is just the start of a very busy 2014. We are sending out missionaries to Honduras, Romania, Italy, and Poland. We are building a church home in Draper, planting a church, and continuing to be missionaries in our own community. We are remaining faithful in God to provide us with the funds to accomplish this vision. (more…)

We are rejoicing in hope. May we also be patient in tribulation, and constant in prayer. God wants to hear from His people! Pray with us this February for the future of The Rock, and for us to realize our goal of winning to Christ one life at a time, and one world in our lifetime.

“The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, ‘O God, forgive me,’ or ‘Help me.’” –Billy Graham

We are a couple days into 2014 now. You might have even taken down your Christmas tree and quit making cookies, and you are willing to try eating vegetables for the first time since the green bean casserole at Thanksgiving. You’ve got your one year (more…)

Bible plan out and you are ready to take on this year! But it only takes about two minutes on Facebook, or a text or email from a good friend to know that we are all facing the same battles that we were a couple weeks ago. Our relationship with the Lord is vital to equipping us for the fight. Our invaluable time spent reading the Word, and our moments praying to the merciful Creator of the universe, are two of the greatest ways we can find comfort in our trials and protect ourselves from the arrows of the enemy. Maybe it starts with just five minutes a day, and it grows. We grow.

We just spent an entire month celebrating the birth of our King, and the dawn of His redeeming grace. He wants to talk to us. He wants to hear our status updates more than anyone! He bought us at a tremendous price and wants to have a relationship with us. With no barriers in between us, we can simply pray to Him.

James 5:16 says that the “prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (NIV) Please be praying for your brothers and sisters; for your family!

One simple way to start today would be to download, print, or view The Rock Church’s Prayer List. We put it out monthly, and want you to be joining us in asking God to bless and grow us as a body of believers. Start a habit of praying with us each day by putting it up on your fridge, throwing a copy of it into your Bible, or reading our status updates on Facebook.

Let’s get equipped together to fight our battles in 2014 by going to God first.
