Family, A Word from Pastor Tony D'Amico

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been looking through many of the photos that my wife has taken since we started coming to The Rock Church back in 2004. We were putting a slide show together for the final service in Salt Lake City and since Shannon loves to document everything with her camera, it was huge blessing to look at it all.

We had the chance to “see” all of the amazing things that God has done through the people (our family, really) at The Rock. From baptisms to conferences, from all-church campouts to after-church hangouts, from mission trips to Small Group meetings, from salvations to completely changed lives and saved marriages, Jesus has done a tremendous work in it all!

Processing all of that has been a very emotional experience. I’ve thought about how all those people are like a family. They truly have loved one another.

Paul wrote in Romans 12:10-13, “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality”.

The body of believer we have at The Rock Church never ceases to amaze me. Recently, one of our deacons from the Salt Lake location, was involved in a pretty bad accident. I was amazed to see the love everyone showed their family. People came together to “outdo” one another by giving meals, donating money, praying together, and giving of their time to help out. That verse came to life. It wasn’t just words on paper.

When you think about the people that you commune with at church, my prayer is that you take to heart what Paul wrote to the Romans. Truly love one another. When we do that, the love will over flow into all aspects of our lives.

Love you all,

Tony
