Miracles

“God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.” (Acts 19:11-12)

Just before Jesus returns to heaven to take his place at the right hand of God, He gives the disciples these words that echo throughout the entire book of Acts: He said in Acts 1:8 “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.”

Again and again, the power that comes with the witness and makes it life changing is something extraordinary: tongues of fire, sounds of wind (Acts 2:2-3), shaking buildings (Acts 4:31), miraculous healings and relief for the demon possessed.

Some have asked whether or not we can see miracles like this in our day and age. Personally, I absolutely believe that the Lord can work miracles like this, even today. If you look at what God’s spirit is doing on a global level, we would be amazed at how God is working on behalf of His children for the glory of His name.

So often we hear others say, or we say ourselves:

“If God would just perform the same kinds of miracles today, then I would believe in Him.”

“What happened to the blind seeing and the deaf hearing? What happened to the burning bush, and the parting of the red sea?”

And because God does not answer how you think He should answer, you don’t believe.

Here are some things to consider: God always performs the miracles that are just right for the culture and for the person to spark faith, belief, and glory. These miracles always bring recognition not to the receiver, but to God Himself.

We also know that we have the full revelation of God’s very word in the Bible. Have you opened it? Have you read and scrutinized it?

If there has been no “amazing” miracle in your life to prove God, it’s simply because God says: “You don’t need it!”

If you need a miracle to believe in him for salvation, ask Jesus Christ to reveal himself to you.

Ask Jesus Christ to reveal Himself to you in a miraculous way for you that He sees fit. The Lord is faithful and He will hear your prayer of faith. Our God is a true miracle worker.
