Update on Coronavirus and Weekend Services

Greetings, Rock Church!

The Rock Pastors want to update you on where we are, in response to the rising concerns about the COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Salt Lake City and the United States.

First of all, in an effort to ensure a healthy and safe environment for our entire church family, and in an effort to adhere to Governor Herbert’s recent request that large group meetings be limited to 100 people or less, we have decided to suspend all Rock Church services and large group meetings from now through the end of March.

This would include our weekend services, Youth Group meetings, the Men’s Conference and any other large group gatherings. We are not in fear. We simply believe that this is the wisest and most loving thing to do at this point to help keep the virus from spreading.

We do feel that Small Groups can continue at their own discretion. However, no one should feel pressure to attend, especially if you are feeling sick or are uncomfortable attending. Contact your Small Group leader for specific direction regarding your Small Group.

The good news is that we will be live-streaming our three, weekend services at their regular times! In fact, we will conclude our Truth , Love & Culture series this weekend – online at trc.life/live – which will include a worship time and a pastoral Q&A panel. It should be fantastic.

Of course, this could all change. But, we promise to keep you updated. In that regard, the pastors are working hard to communicate quickly and accurately to as many people as possible. The first place for you to start is our website. We now have a “Coronavirus Update” link button at the top of our Home Page which will serve as a hub for all of our updates and information.

We will also be taking advantage of all our social media platforms. Please follow on Instagram and Facebook, as well as sign up for our ERock Newsletter and download The Rock Church App if you haven’t already.

Finally, let’s apply faith and smile at the future, Saints!  😉 God is in control, even through the difficulties that lie ahead. We need to be in faith, not fear. In challenging times, our Christianity should shine like the sun. Let’s not let this crisis pass without demonstrating the love of Christ to this world!

We love what God tells us in Isaiah 41:10,

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Amen. That’s it — God will help us!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of the pastors, and don’t forget to keep checking our website for the latest updates.

May God bless you all,

The Rock Church Pastors
