“[God] raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages He might show the immeasurable riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” — Ephesians 2:6-7
This verse is undeniably fantastic! I’d encourage you to meditate on it specifically this week. Just think about this glorious future you have in Christ in Heaven.
God’s plan for our salvation is to show us FOREVER the unending riches of His grace and kindness. To forever love us — without end. What?!
John Piper said, “What we see in verse 7 is beyond the capacity of human language to capture adequately, and yet God has ordained to reveal it in human language.” It truly is difficult to put into words.
Christian, Christ saved you for this. This good news is certainly so much more than just going to Heaven (or not going to hell). It isn’t just to avoid God’s wrath. At the same time, salvation is for a reason. It is something for us to experience, FOREVER.
God’s Grace and Plan
Surely, the Trinity welcomes us into a loving relationship because of our position in Christ. (Thank God for His mercy and great love!) Given that, God the Father looks at us and sees God the Son. And then loves us with that love. Along with that, He says, “You are going to be with Me forever, and I have so much good in store for you.”
God’s purposes are always eternal. His plan is eternal. And His love for His people is eternal. Christ revealed this incredible mystery. This beautiful salvation plan includes showing us His immeasurable riches of grace and kindness. For all eternity.
Grace and peace,
