  1. Oh, Hold Them Back!

Oh, Hold Them Back! A word by pastor Mac from The Rock Church in Draper, Utah. He gently helps me and reminds me of Truth and what is important to Him. People. Yes, people — oh, hold them back. The Lord doesn’t want anyone to perish.

“Deliver those who are being taken away to death, And those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back. If you say, ‘See, we did not know this,’ Does He not consider it who weighs the heart? And does He not know it who keeps your soul? And will He not render to man according to his work?” — Proverbs 24:11-12

The Wrong Bread, a word by pastor Billy Johnson from The Rock Church in Draper, Utah.

After six years of dragging a hose around the yard to water our lawn, my wife and I decided to make our summer project be to install a sprinkler system. We saved up our money and I spent months learning what I needed to know to design and build my own sprinkler system. I bought bits and pieces on classified sites in order to cut the costs. We always encourage each other with what God is teaching us. He usually provides a theme, idea or even a struggle that is common to the group. His most recent theme was fear.

Content with Daily Bread, a blog post by Pastor Caleb Yetton of The Rock Church in Draper Salt Lake City Utah.

“…give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.” — Proverbs 30:8b-9

Going through the book of Proverbs in our Get Wisdom series has been a real blessing to me. I was especially encouraged (and challenged) by our recent messages on money (Money Wise and Matter of Honor). If you missed those messages I invite you to watch them this week.

  5. All Things New

All Things New, A Word by Pastor Billy Johnson of The Rock Church in Utah.

Happy New Year! It always amazes me how quickly one year comes to an end and another one takes its place. It’s a never ending cycle. A few days ago, I was reading in the Bible (the book of Revelation). What really stood out to me was that when Jesus comes to make all things new, it will be the end of the “out with the old and in with the new” mentality we’ve all come to know in this life.
