In the closing verses of Galatians 4, Paul turns to the Old Testament to solidify his message. Throughout the chapter, he has contrasted the freedom found in faith in Christ with the bondage of striving for justification through efforts of the flesh. Now, he uses the story of Abraham’s two sons as an allegory—one symbolizing slavery to works, the other representing the true children of promise who are free by faith.
There are endless distractions in our world — many of them try to distort our view of the beauty and Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thankfully, we have His Word to help us see clearly. In the life-preserving letter of Galatians, the Apostle Paul warns us of error and guides us to the Truth. Truth that leads to fruitful lives as fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. Please join us as we delve into this especially important letter.
