The Cross

Easter

The cross is the most commonly used image in Christianity today, and rightfully so. However, in today’s world the cross can be found on anything and everything, from jewelry to tattoos. We as a culture have become desensitized to the vastness of the cross. Whether through ignorance or false teaching we have forgotten what the cross was historically used for and even the significance and power of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Good Friday is the remembrance and the celebration of that sacrifice and we will look directly at the cross of Christ and how it still affects the human race two thousand years later. The Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 6:14 , “But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” What is your response to the cross?
