Guarding Against Apostasy

1 Timothy

Starting in chapter four, Paul tells us that the "last days" (the period of time between Christ's first and second coming) will be marked by increasing apostasy. Apostasy is defined as the abandoning or denying of one's faith in Jesus after having previously confessed Him as Lord. False teachers, who bring false teachings, will foster this falling away. In considering this passage, we'll discover how can we guard and protect ourselves (and others) from the dangers of apostasy.

Scripture References: 1 Timothy 4:1-5

From Series: "1 Timothy"

In this first part of our study of 1Timothy, Paul urges Timothy to stay in Ephesus to deal with false teachers. Many of their false teachings are lies we can still believe today. Paul reminds Timothy of the timely and encouraging truths he (and we) need to stay focused on.
