Samson

Continuing on in the "Jesus Is Better" Series, we will be looking at the life of the mighty Samson. Quite possibly, he was one of the most questionable believers in the whole Bible. He was a man who (when we look at his life, his character, his faith, and his disobedience) looks like he would be the most unlikely person to be used by God. Almost everything Samson did was in direct defiance and willing disobedience to God. Yet, God still used Samson in a tremendous way.

The stories of the Old Testament can sometimes be unfamiliar to us as Christians. It says in Romans 15:4, "For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." But, like this verse in Romans states, they were written to instruct us. Join us as we spend 12 weeks studying through a variety of Old Testament characters. Studying their lives in greater detail will both instruct and challenge us. But, it doesn't stop there. These Old Testament characters don't simply instruct and encourage us. They also point (like a big, old laser beam) to Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate example of what it means to live a life of faith. All of these heroes of the Old Testament are ultimately a version of or a picture of Jesus. Join us as Jesus is Better!
