As we near the end of the book of 2 Peter, the Apostle Peter addresses one of the false teachings of his time. Namely, the false teachers deny that God will return for His final judgment. Peter takes his audience back to the creation and flood in order to demonstrate that God has intervened in history and He will again. We will look at some evidence for the flood and the truth this teaches us as Christians.

As we begin this study through Peter’ s first letter to the churches, we will discover that he has a unique ability to encourage believers in faith, obedience and patience. His experiences, and close relationship with Jesus, allow him to direct us in God’s way while offering comfort in suffering, and joy as we hope in Christ.
