Where Satan Lives (Revelation 2:12-17)

In this message, we discover Jesus' words to the church in Pergamum (the city “where Satan lives”). This letter not only had great relevance and significance for those who heard it in the first century, but also for the Church at all times and in all places. The Spirit reminds us that we should look to Jesus alone for our joy, life and security. Additionally, we should set aside the other gods that we're so inclined to worship. Through repentance we should trust in Jesus as the only true God. We live in a day and age where our culture shouts at us constantly. It screams at us non-stop. So many different voices — each one telling us what they think truly matters and what they think we should focus on. It’s overwhelming. It’s confusing. Who should we listen to? We need Truth in order to navigate the world we live in and that Truth can only come from Jesus. In our world today, it’s critical that we focus on what Jesus had to say. He knows what is the ultimate best for us and shares it with us in His Word. Revelation (Chapters 2 & 3) reveals His heart for His people — instructions, warnings and promises. It’s clear what He wants us to do and what He wants us to avoid. His words are relevant and life-changing for us today.
