Seize the Day (Revelation 3:7-13)

In the movie, Dead Poet's Society, a professor at an all-boys boarding school challenged his students to live extraordinary lives — to go beyond the status quo. The famous phrase from that movie was carpe diem, which means seize the day. I believe that is the message Jesus has for our Church and in our own lives. Jesus longs for us to make the most of the opportunities He has placed before us. No matter what difficulties, challenges or irritations we may be facing — God wants us to make the most of them all. Will you seize the day? Part Six Letters to the Church Series “Seize the Day” To The Church In Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13) Pastor Bill Young November 21 & 22, 2020 Draper

We live in a day and age where our culture shouts at us constantly. It screams at us non-stop. So many different voices — each one telling us what they think truly matters and what they think we should focus on. It’s overwhelming. It’s confusing. Who should we listen to? We need Truth in order to navigate the world we live in and that Truth can only come from Jesus. In our world today, it’s critical that we focus on what Jesus had to say. He knows what is the ultimate best for us and shares it with us in His Word. Revelation (Chapters 2 & 3) reveals His heart for His people — instructions, warnings and promises. It’s clear what He wants us to do and what He wants us to avoid. His words are relevant and life-changing for us today.
