Radical Redemption (1 Peter 1:17-21)

First Peter

The word redemption means to buy out or to purchase back, specifically in reference to the purchase of a slave’s freedom. Jesus paid the price to redeem us. This resulted in our freedom from slavery to sin and our rescue from the eternal consequences of that sin. In this message we’ll look at three reasons why understanding redemption can radically change our lives. What a year it’s been! Will things get better? Is there any hope they could? It’s easy for us to believe that things will simply get better than they have been. However, the Word of God teaches us that hope is only found in one source — in Jesus. First Peter teaches us to set our hope fully on the grace of God. Through Jesus Christ we have living hope of an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. Realistic hope that will transform the way we live.
