In Chapter Four, Paul seeks to encourage Timothy to stand fast in the midst of the pressures facing him. He knows Timothy needs to fight the heresies of his day; he needs to give directives on how to help train and shepherd Christians in their faith. We'll look specifically at three methods for training in godliness.

In this first part of our study of 1Timothy, Paul urges Timothy to stay in Ephesus to deal with false teachers. Many of their false teachings are lies we can still believe today. Paul reminds Timothy of the timely and encouraging truths he (and we) need to stay focused on.
