Mostly Dead (Revelation 3:1-6)

In Part Five of our Letters to the Church series, we look at Jesus' words to the church in Sardis. Jesus doesn't commend this church but immediately corrects them. His warning is instructive for us. What (in our life) is lulling us to sleep spiritually? Conversely, we also see in these verses, incredible promises for the Believer who overcomes. We live in a day and age where our culture shouts at us constantly. It screams at us non-stop. So many different voices — each one telling us what they think truly matters and what they think we should focus on. It’s overwhelming. It’s confusing. Who should we listen to? We need Truth in order to navigate the world we live in and that Truth can only come from Jesus. In our world today, it’s critical that we focus on what Jesus had to say. He knows what is the ultimate best for us and shares it with us in His Word. Revelation (Chapters 2 & 3) reveals His heart for His people — instructions, warnings and promises. It’s clear what He wants us to do and what He wants us to avoid. His words are relevant and life-changing for us today.
