I Don’t Know Who Needs to Hear This

I Don't Know Who Needs to Hear This, a word by pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper Utah. "There is a trend on social media where people write “I don’t know who needs to hear this…” and then finish the phrase with a humorous or heartfelt tagline."

There is this trend on social media where people write “I don’t know who needs to hear this…” and then finish the phrase with a humorous or heartfelt tagline. With the use of that line, I have read some pretty hilarious things as well as overwhelmingly beautiful messages.

This thing we call life can certainly be A LOT, right? People right now are experiencing tremendous highs, while others are living excruciating lows. Just this last week, I have been able to rejoice with some dear folks about encouraging developments in their life, as well as walk through some devastating realities who people I love are in the thick of. To be honest, I can’t remember a week like this in quite some time.

Life doesn’t stop coming. It feels like I keep asking myself this (but I need to keep asking it), “Where do I go from here?” Through the highs and lows, I must let Jesus shepherd my heart and remind me that I MATTER to Him. That what I am going through matters to Him.

So, I don’t know who needs to hear this, but:

  • Jesus loves you more than you could ever imagine. (Jeremiah 31:3)
  • Jesus is for you, even if it feels like no one else is. (Psalm 27:10)
  • Jesus is with you, even when you feel the loneliest and most in the dark. (Jonah 2:2)
  • Jesus knows every little detail of your life, and it doesn’t change how much He loves you. (Psalm 103:10-14
  • Jesus is in control of your life and He has a plan. (Jeremiah 29:11-14)
  • You can trust Jesus, even when things don’t look the way you want them to. (Mark 6:50-51)
  • Jesus wants to use your life to bring glory and honor to His Father. (John 15:8-9)

I know it can be easy sometimes to read the Truth of God’s heart for us and just skim it as nonchalantly as our morning news feed. But, I’d encourage you, Christian, to read that list above again. As you do, ask Jesus to let you read those amazing Truths freshly — allow Him to breathe wind into your sails — even if you’ve heard them a thousand times.

Whether you’ve had the best week or the worst week, remember whose you are and the Truth that comes along with that.

Needing to hear it again,

Caleb
