A Message for the Parents of The Rock Church

Dear Rock Parents,

As you can imagine, we are very excited to be meeting together again starting THIS weekend — June 20 & 21!

We believe the gathering of God’s people is so vital and beneficial for us as Believers. However, due to the regulations regarding COVID-19 (and the precautions we’re taking for your safety), there will be no Kid’s Rock classes offered at this time.

We’re A Family

Hearing there will be no children’s classes may cause some worry or tension for many of you parents. And we totally get it. We want to reassure you that we are absolutely expecting that the worship service is going to be a little different than what we’re all used to. We know that having children in the service with us, is going to make it louder. We know that kids wiggle and squirm and oftentimes can’t control the volume of their own voices! Like I said, we get it and are expecting it.

However, we still want to ENCOURAGE you and your children to come to church (even if you’re a little insecure or nervous about it). We don’t want you to feel like you aren’t welcome because of how your children may act. We’re a family — we love you and your kids. We want you to be with us.

Your pastors also believe that having children in the service with us will provide a weekly opportunity for you to train and instruct your children in self-control. This fruit of the Spirit will be a blessing to your children for the rest of their lives. If you ever want (or feel like you need) some advice on how to train and instruct your children in this important skill, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of the pastors.

For those of you who don’t have children (or your children are older), we’re confident you’ll extend amazing grace to those families with kids (thank you).

Plan Ahead

We thought of a few things you could do to prepare your little ones for church services:

  • Come with some books your kids can look at during the service.
  • Bring coloring books and crayons.
  • Encourage your older kids to take some notes or write down some of the verses from the message.

In addition to what you might bring, we’ll have crayons and coloring pages for kids when they arrive. Being prepared before coming to church helps so much.

Parents, please know we love you and your kiddos. We want to empower and encourage you to bring your family and join us at church.

On behalf of all the pastors of The Rock, we can’t wait to see you and your kids again!

Bryan
