Update Regarding The Rock’s Mask Policy

The Rock Pastors spent four hours (of heartfelt discussion) regarding our response and responsibility to the Salt Lake County Health Department’s 30-day public health order (order #2022-01) regarding COVID-19 mask mandates.

This is a challenging issue, to say the least. But, this is what the pastors have decided will apply to our Rock Church services:

  • Signs will be posted outside our front doors notifying people about the Health Department’s mandate.
  • We will encourage people to wear masks.
  • Masks will be available to anyone who would like one.
  • We will not enforce/police mask wearing.

We also would like to reiterate the following:

  • If you are not feeling well, are in a high-risk category, or feel uncomfortable being in an environment where masks are not required, please feel the freedom to stay home and watch online.
  • Pray that God protects our church family and community.
  • Pray that God continues to give your pastors grace; this is a difficult and fluid situation that may change.
  • Please show each other much mercy and kindness, regardless of your convictions on masks. (“Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.”- Luke 6:36)

We’ll keep you posted on any change to our current COVID guidelines or modification of TRC meetings or events. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact one of the pastors.

Sincerely,

Bill Young on behalf of The Rock Church Pastors
