The Wonder and Beauty of God’s People in the World
“I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” — Matthew 16:18b
What makes the local Church unique, remarkable, and unlike anything else in the world? How does it impact people’s lives?
It can be difficult to see her for the beauty, joy and glory that Jesus sees in His bride. She is often the target of negative speech or the mark of apparent failures. But the truth is that Jesus loves her and proclaims that she is a sacred place. Certainly, the Church has been set apart by Him.
The Church is God’s people. And there is wonder, beauty and mission to be found in a body of believers united in Christ. When we treasure her the way Jesus does, the world can’t help but notice — and be changed.
In this eight-part series, our desire is to help every believer’s affection for the Church to grow. We’ll highlight what makes the Church unique and why it exists in this world. We’ll also look at how we walk these truths out at The Rock.
